The Holy Grail Found in Lanarkshire #History #Scotland #KnightsTemplar

The Knights Templar, the Holy Grail and Rosslyn Chapel are often linked together in legend and in Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, but now startling new evidence proves that the Scottish Covenanters looted Rosslyn Chapel in 1688 and stole the Grail. Even more amazing is the fact that the Holy Grail, the cup that Jesus used, may be hidden in Scotland.

The Covenanters conducted a raid on Rosslyn Chapel, the place where the Grail was hidden, during the Glorious Revolution of 1688. At ten o’clock at night on the 11 December, what was called a “rabble” looted Rosslyn Chapel. The ‘rabble’ in question were the Covenanters, aka. the Society people, who also raided other prominent Catholic houses at that time.

Father Richard Augustine Hay recorded in his memoirs:

‘The rable had destroyd, upon the tenth of Decmbre 1688, what monuments of Catholicity were found in the Abbacie of Holyroodhouse, and thereafter carrying their bad designs furder, plunder’d without distinction all the houses of the Roman Cathlicks’ (Hay, Genealogie of the Hays of Tweeddale, 60.)

The Covenanters then made their way to Rosslyn Chapel.

The Covenanters Who Raided Rosslyn Chapel
As the Revolution broke in Scotland, James Currie, a committed Covenanter, lay ill in Edinburgh. He would soon miraculously recover and give directions for the raid on Rosslyn Chapel:

‘About this time, on November 28th, 1688, my oldest son James, was born, while I was still unwell, which was a sore tryall to my dear wife [the remarkable Helen Alexander]. And in my sickness and pain I took an esking, which severalls concluded would be my death; but as I said, the Lord brought me through.

And when my child was baptized (for Providence ordered it so that Mr. Thomas Linning, whom we had then a freedom to hear, came to our house to stay all night, about the 11th of December 1688 [i.e., during the riots in Edinburgh], and baptized him, preaching on the 15th of John), I was so weak that I could not hold him up [to be baptised].’

One line in John 15 stands out considering the burning of Catholic objects that followed: ‘If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.’

Currie continues:
‘And on this same night [11 December] some men [from the United Societies of the Covenanters] went over to Roslyn Castle [and Chapel], and burnt their images, and many of their Popish books, I telling them where they would find their Priests’ Robes [in the Chapel];’

However, Currie then mysteriously sent people to hinder them from destroying some things. Did he want to protect the Grail?

‘but withall, I desired some to go over after them and hinder them from taking or hurting anything except what belonged to their Idolatry: for at this time the Prince of Orange was come [at the head of an invasion] to England.’ (Passages in the Lives of Helen Alexander and James Currie of Pentland, 40.)

The Covenanters At the Apprentice’s Pillar
The effects of the Covenanters’ raid on Rosslyn Chapel was recorded by one of its targets, Father Richard Augustine Hay† at Rosslyn:

‘Those monuments, with some other part of the Chapell, as a Queue de Lampe, some statues yet remaining, a pend goeing from east: to west att the first pillar, and Earle of
Cathnes his tombe, were a little defaced by the rable, the eleventh of December 1688, about 10 of the clock att night, after the castle had been spoiled, where I lost severall books of note, and, amongst others, the origiuall manuscript of Adam Abel*, which I had of my Lord Tarbat, then [Lord] Register.’ (Genealogie of the Sainteclaires of Rosslyn, 107.)

The ‘pend goeing from east: to west att the first pillar’ was the sacristy by the Apprentice’s Pillar.

They also damaged the Earl of Cathness’s tomb, who is said to be a Knight Templar. What did they take?

Another Covenanter, Patrick Walker‡ in Edinburgh, joined in the attacks on Catholic houses:

‘In the End of 1688, at the happy Revolution, when the duke of York fled and the Crown was vacant, in this Time we had no King nor Judicatories in the Kingdom; the united Societies [of Covenanters], in their general Correspondence, considering this surprizing, unexpected, merciful Step of the Lord’s Dispensation, thought it some way belonged to us, in the Inter-regnum, to go to all Popish Houses, and destroy their Monuments of Idolatry, with their Priest’s Robes, and to apprehend and put in Prison themselves; which was done at the Cross of Dumfries and Peebles, and other Places [i.e., Rosslyn Chapel]. That honourable and worthy Gentleman, Donald Ker of Kersland, having a considerable Number of us with him, went to the House of Traquair [south of Rosslyn Chapel], in Frost and Snow, and found a great deal of Romish Wares there, but wanted the Cradle, Mary, and the Babe, and the Priest’s Robes: He sent James [H]Arcknyes [in Locherben], and some with him, to the House of a Presbyterian Minister: Kersland ordered them to search his House narrowly, and behave themselves discreetly, which they did. Mr. Louis and his Wife mocked them, without offering them either Meat or Drink, tho’ they had much Need of it. At last they found two Trunks locked, which they desired to have opened; Mr Louis then left them: They broke up the Coffers, wherein they found a Golden Cradle, with Mary and the Babe at her Bosom; in the other Trunk, the Priest’s Robes, (the Earl [Charles Stewart, fourth earl of Traquair] and the Priest were fled) which they brought all to the [Mercat] Cross of Peebles, with a great Value of Romish Wares, and burnt them there.’ (Walker, BP, I, 279-80.)

Was the Holy Grail Burned?
After the Traquair raid the Covenanters burned what they took at the Mercat Cross of Peebles. Remarkably, we know what they looted from a receipt they left for Lady Traquair.

What about the Rosslyn Chapel Raid?
We know that in the raid on Rosslyn Chapel that they also left a receipt for the items taken and challenged the Countess to reclaim damages from Scotland’s privy council. They certainly burned some items, but did they burn everything they seized? We know they did not burn one of the earliest histories of Scotland, John of Fordun’s Chronicle. So they were careful in what they destroyed, perhaps on Currie’s orders. Did the Covenanters burn and destroy the Grail? Or is still it hidden in Scotland?

The Carpenter’s Cup?
Is there a clue to the whereabouts of the cup in one of Alexander ‘Prophet’ Peden’s Sermons? Prophet Peden was one of the main field preachers to Covenanters who was known by three of the raiders- Patrick Walker, James Harkness and Daniel Ker of Kersland. He died in 1686, but in a sermon printed after the Glorious Revolution in 1739, he curiously is said to have mentioned a cup that “Our Lord hath held”:
“This cup of suffering hath come all the way down from Abel to this year, 1682, in Scotland. Our Lord hath held this cup to all the martyrs’ heads, wherever He had a Church in the world, and it will go to all the lips of all the martyrs that are to suffer for Christ, even to the sounding of the last trumpet. But yet, people of God, it is but the brim that the saints taste of. But be ye patient in believing, for God shall make the wicked, His enemies and your persecutors in Scotland, wring out the bitter dregs of this cup to all eternity, and “to spue, and fall, and rise no more.” Believe it, our Master will set up this cup, and close it, and swallow up time in eternity, and blow that great trumpet, and then heaven and earth shall all go into a red flame at once. O believers, long for that noble day; for it will put an end to all your sad and suffering days.”

Peden had a simple cup. But which one is the right one?

One of them is hidden in Lanarkshire. But that would be telling …

*Adam Abel, a Grey Friar in Jedburgh, was the author of Rota Temporum, a Latin history of Scotland to 1533, which was later printed in Rome with alterations and additions by John Lesley, Bishop of Ross, and translated into Scots by Father James Dalrymple in 1596. The original manuscript was consulted by the historian William Camden.

†Father Richard Augustine Hay was order out of the kingdom in 1689. He continued his life of scholarship and died in poverty in Edinburgh’s Cowgate in c.1736.

‡ Patrick Walker later wrote a life of Alexander Peden. In the late 1720s, he lived in Candlemakers Row, close to the Cowgate where Father Hay lived.

  1. Considering that the Jesus myth is a ‘Harry Potter’ story plagiarised from Ancient Egypt and only invented under the instructions of Constantine circa 325CE, this is absolute rubbish.

Surely you are aware now that there is so much evidence that has come to light about the biggest hoax of the last 1,600 years?

Jesus was never more than an Ancient Egyptian belief – named IWSA – but then changed to IESOUS by the Greeks after Alexander invaded Egypt. All the same stories except that the Egyptian versions were heavenly and never on Earth.

For pity sake you only have to read the Septuagint IN GREEK to see how people have been fooled and hoaxed. The Septuagint was translated into Koine Greek by the 70 Jews some 2,300 years ago and even has a book of Jesus in it plus his name in Exodus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

One cannot convince the fanatics whose Cognitive Dissonance is beyond repair but any rational thinking person only has to search for five minutes to find most of the evidence – it does help to be able to read Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and texts, but there is plenty now on the Net – everywhere.

Just begin with the Septuagint IN GREEK and not the deliberate mistranslations – would you like me to send you some evidence?
