MacMillan at Swine Knowe and Caldercruix #History #Scotland

Moffat Caldercruix
One of the first places that John MacMillan preached after he became the minister of the Society people in 1706, was the mysterious Swine Knowe.

‘At Suyn Know in the paroch of New Munkland, Janwary fyft day, 1707.’
Swine Knowe, New Monkland parish, Lanarkshire. 5 January, 1707.
Richard Cameron had preached an important sermon at Swine Knowe in mid 1680. Where it was located is not clear, but it perhaps lay near Caldercruix.
